Transportation

Front Range

RTD and Bustang (operated by CDOT) will be your best bets for cheap public transportation in/around Denver. All buses in these two networks are equipped with front bike racks, and large, regional buses will have luggage storage below that will carry a boxed up bicycle. There is no additional charge.

The Bustang West Line can give you access through the mountains of Colorado. Of interest to you are the Idaho Springs stop and access to Evans, Bierdstat, Grays, Torreys. The Frisco stop will gain easy access to Quandary, as well as access to the Colorado Trail, and bus service to Leadville.

The Bustang South Line will give you access to Colorado Springs. Pikes Peak is literally right outside of the city limits.

The Bustang Estes Park route will get you close to Longs Peak.

There are a few independent mountain taxi services to take you deeper into the mountains (or get you out!)
