Bike Commuting, 20 miles

Last day at the boutique feather warehouse. A good run, good people. I’ll be back to fill in from time to time. Thanks everyone, I miss y’all already.

This week was a difficult one for me. Tonight, I went to my first Adult Children of Alcoholics meeting. It took essentially an emotional breakdown and a few very hard days to admit that I can not go on the way that I’ve been trying (and failing) to go on, that it’s all beyond my capabilities to fix myself (and has for 20+ years) despite feeling that I am so smart and so clever, and that I need help. Tough shit. Turns out there’s a very sad, very scared, and very ignored child inside this allegedly big strong man that needs my help.

I’m not sure if this is a topic I want to make part of my public persona- as I’m not interested in exploited this disease for personal gain, but it’s a thing I’m going through and will be working through indefinitely. If I can be of service to others, I would like to find a healthy way to do so.

Bouldering @ Movement, 2 hours

An absolutely crusher of a session. Funny how crying uncontrollably in the back of a car in the fetal position after going to a meeting with 20 other people with trauma stemming from dysfunctional families, then 10 hours of sleep can really add some levity to your life.

Trying out the Sportiva Akasha II‘s. They’re nice. You should totally run in them.

Trail Building w/Flatirons Climbing Council

A good day digging in the dirt. The FCC helped out with trail maintenance of the Hillbilly Rock approach trail. As someone who’s on off the beaten path and on climbing approach trails all the time, it’s nice to help out with maintenance. Hillybilly is a really cool area.

You seem to live an inspired life. Big props making it to ACoA. Our internal landscapes are very worthy of exploration. I wish you deep healing on your journey!
