Hey Justin — a little off topic from this post, but is there any chance you’ve been able to test the new Bushido III Wide? I’m curious as to whether it’s a genuinely wide last (like the Cyklon Wide) or whether this just brings the Bushido into the realm of a decent-width trail shoe like the Jackal II.
The Bushido III is interesting to me, as the regular and wide versions are built on the SAME last. It’s just that the upper on the wide version has more material to allow a larger volume foot to wear it! I haven’t tried the Bushido wide myself, but the Bushido regular was always just a little too tight to wear comfortably.
So I think to answer your question, it would be a different fit than the Jackal II which is built on a wider last than the Bushido III wide.
That is such a classic La Sportiva approach to a wide shoe! I genuinely laughed out loud reading this. Very interesting. Really appreciate the info! Thanks Justin
