Third Flatiron Laps, Green Chimney/West Ironing Board
My plan was to do at least five laps of the Third, but I was chased off the start of my second lap by rain. Knowing that there was a chance this was just a passing shower, I wandered back up to the back of the Third, and kept going farther to the back of the West Ironing Board looking for an obscure route called Green Chimney. I wagered a chimney could be climbed wet. Found it! Sent it! I wandered to the very summit of the West Ironing Board, which was a little anti-climactic, as the north side sort of blends into the woods – and the mini flatironette, “Terror Summit”, just to the north, is higher still.
I wandered back to the east bench of the Third – only getting a little lost, and made another lap before calling it.

What the heck, might as well end the night with a bouldering sess.
Friday
Bear Peak
Started up from NCAR (which itself is a nice warmup on the bike!), and wandered about near the water tower looking for the Pocket Place secteur for an easy boulder called Sit Crack. Found it, sent it!
Actually some good finger locks mixed in with the face holds.
Afterwards (and after stealing a few apples), I wandered up Fern Canyon on my way to the Third Advisor to find Good Advice, another easy crack climb. It took a while to find the Third Advisor, and the climb itself. It was a little underwhelming, but a nice diversion.
Under the dying light, I cross country’d up to the summit of Bear Peak, mostly on a talus field that started around the west side of the Third Advisor and went clear to the summit itself.

Sunday
Bouldering @ Movement, 2 hours
Tried a bit of the pink V8 again after warming up, but it’s nails hard after the inset crimp. I may have to watch someone else do it and steal their beta – tough on my knee to keep flubbing it.
Chapman Road Laps
This borderlined actual speed work, which I’m allergic two. Did three laps up Chapman: two sustainable, and another near my max. PR’d the last lap, which is saying something, but I don’t think my times up this are all that great. I can improve this by a couple of minutes, just by not riding a bike with a few bike locks, my climbing gear, a change of street clothes, lunch, two bikepacking bags, a properly pumped up tire, etc, etc, etc.
