It's the first Monday of the month! Here's what's been happening on the blog:
I’ve used incredibly bright lights, but the Monteer 6500S Zeus by Magicshine.us is in a completely different class! Pushing out a max of 6500 lumens, this light not only betters any other bicycle light I’ve ever used, it rivals many car headlights!
Sunday’s effort was worth a little rest.
Nothing special to note – just crushing it in my mild manner’d way, like ya do.
This day did not go as planned.
Got the V5! (much rejoicing). Must of felt good and was that .1% stronger. Warmed up by doing all the crimpy V5/V6 problems in the gym. Finished the day with ~4 V6s – all I’ve done before.
4kg weighted carry up, then I dropped the weight to run comfortably down. I think running down is just more efficient for training, and your heart rate stays up when you’re motoring.
I’ve been planning my future Sawatch adventure and the more I looked at it, the more I realize that the reputation of the Sawatch being full of gentle heaps of talus hills and nothing else is only true if you decide to ignore some nightmare ridges just off to the side from the more popular 14ers.
My survey of eleven different sun shirts is up at OutdoorGearLab – have a read:
Although the sky threatened, I kept fairly dry. Did the usual route up to Gregory Pass, below the First, then up behind the First to the summit of Green, then down Greenman/Saddle/Amphi.
Second lap started up Saddle Rock.
