Monday

Fort Collins – Boulder: 46.8 miles; 3hr 25min

Ride back from Fort Collins (I left on Friday). Pretty terrible ride, truth be told. I averaged less than 14mph for the whole thing – a stark difference from averaging 18mph+ on the way up. Partly because of the weather being much colder, but I also had a slow flat in my back wheel that must of slowed me down more than I noticed. A bit of slop on the ride, but not enough that I thought it was negatively impacting my speed.

Got home and immediately stripped, ran a shower with the bathtub plugged, and just laid in it as I slowly warmed up. A little too cold of a ride to be wearing tights without a base layer. Happily, I had my Bar Mitts on – those things are life-savers.

Spin Bike, 1 hour

Thursday

Rest

Woke up feeling pretty wrecked, to be honest.

Friday

Bouldering @ Movement, 2 hours

Just another session. Slowly gaining more confidence in my left middle finger, but still need to baby the hell out of it.

Indoor bouldering is weird – so I work on a V5 on the 45 degree wall for like an hour. I finally finish the problem. The route setter comes out of nowhere, changes one hold, and re-grades it a V6. Ugh! I try to redo the problem, but I’m too tired. Sigh.

Spin Bike, 2 hours

Workout, 1 hour

Workouts throughout this week including core work, antagonist training, and hangboarding. Just so I don’t have to repeat myself.

Saturday

Rest

Work day for me, really.

Sunday

Bouldering @ Movement, 2 hours

Just puttin’ in the time (sigh). Focused on a V5 on the 45 degree wall for most of the sess. No send – just an awkward and boring move that shut me down. Just have to link all the moves together. One of those problems I’ll be able to finish first try the next session I’m on.

Also jumped on a rope for a climb up the rattly finger crack (junk show) and hands/fist crack (cruiser)

Finger keeps feeling better and better, but I still cannot, say: hang on a bar without feeling very uncomfortable! It’s just, sad. Every day, I wake up with less pain, less swelling, more mobility.

Work out, 1 hour

Spin Bike 1 hour

What a terribly fucking boring week! I look at the numbers, the time, the workouts, etc – and it’s good! It’s all good, but it’s not satisfying. Sometimes, I just can’t get outside, and things have priorities over workouts. That’s all well and normal, but it’s not optimal.
